In this privacy policy, the words "platform" refers to the Daroory mobile application and the Daroory website together, unless referred to individually in the document, "we", "us", "our" and "Daroory" refers to Daroory and "you" and "user" refers to you, the user of Daroory.

Your continued use of the platform after we make changes to this privacy policy will be deemed acceptance of those changes, so please check this policy periodically for updates. This privacy policy has been developed and is maintained in accordance with all applicable national and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations and, in particular, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - European regulation) and Egyptian personal data protection regulations.

2. HOW WE OBTAIN CONSENT

When you use the platform, you register as a user and create a profile, post an ad, use the features available on the platform, use the chat systems, purchase special features such as featured or boosted ads (plans), and contact us via our contact details and contact form, you consent to our collection, storage and use of your information under the terms set out in this privacy policy.

3. TYPES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

The information we collect from our users helps us to continually improve the user experience on the platform. These are the types of information we collect:

Information you provide to us. You provide information when you use the platform, register as a user and create a profile, post an ad, use the features available on the platform, use the chat and messaging systems, purchase special features such as featured or boosted ads (plans), and contact us through our contact details and contact form. As a result of those actions, you may provide us with the following information:

This may include, but is not limited to, the type of mobile device used, its unique identifier, the IP address of the device, the mobile operating system and the type of mobile browser, along with other identifiers and diagnostic data.

In addition, we collect information that your browser automatically provides each time you visit our website or access our website using a mobile device.

Usage Data (application): Daroory automatically collects certain types of information during users' use of the application. This collection includes technical data such as device type, operating system, device settings, application usage and interaction preferences. This information is essential to improve the functionality and performance of the application, as well as to customise the user experience and ensure system compatibility. All data collected is handled in accordance with our privacy policy, ensuring its protection and confidentiality.

Geo-location (GPS): By using Daroory, you agree that the platform may access and use the GPS function of your device to provide location-based functionality. This includes the ability to display ads or profiles of other users in the same region, with the option to expand the search to other regions of Egypt. Location information is used exclusively to enhance the user experience and provide more relevant interactions within the Daroory community.

User privacy is a priority, and location information is handled with strict confidentiality. This data will not be shared with third parties without the user's explicit consent, unless required by law. Although the user can disable the GPS function from the device settings, this may limit some functionalities of the platform.

By enabling and using the GPS feature on Daroory, you acknowledge and consent to the use of your location to improve connectivity and user experience within the platform.

Registration and login: When using the Daroory platform, users can register and log in to their accounts using various authentication methods, including Google, Apple, Facebook, phone number and email. During the registration and login process, various personal data is collected and processed, which may include email address, phone number, and any other information that the authentication provider shares with the platform, such as the user's name and profile picture.

Daroory also securely records and stores user-provided login credentials, such as encrypted passwords, when an email or phone number-based authentication method is used. In the case of authentication methods linked to third parties, such as Google, Apple or Facebook, information is collected and processed as necessary to facilitate access to the platform, while respecting the privacy settings chosen by the user on those services.

All information collected during registration and login is used exclusively to enable secure access to the platform and manage user accounts, ensuring data protection at all times through advanced security practices. Daroory employs Firebase services for the authentication and secure management of this data, ensuring compliance with applicable data protection standards.

User Content: Daroory collects, processes and stores user content, which includes content and information provided through our platform, including user profile content, ad content and messaging system messages, solely for the provision and enhancement of the functionality available on the platform. User content is stored securely in an SQL database, with all sensitive information encrypted. We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of this content and information, and will not share it with unauthorised third parties, unless required by law or for the operation of the platform.

Payment Data: Payment data refers to information related to your credit or debit card, such as card number, expiry date, security code, etc., depending on the payment method selected by the user. Your payment data will be processed by the payment processors available on this platform, which will process and store your data securely and for the sole purpose of processing transactions for the purchase of specialised services within the platform. Daroory reserves the right to contract any payment processor available.

Contact information: We may access some personal information about the user, such as name and email address, when the user or any third party communicates with us through our contact information. Personal information provided through our contact information is not stored on any Daroory server and will be stored on the respective server of our email service.

4. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

Personal data provided by users through the platform will be retained for the time necessary to provide the functionalities available on the platform, to fulfil the legitimate purposes described in section 5 of this policy or until the user closes the user account or requests the deletion of their data. Daroory may retain personal data for a longer period provided that the user has consented to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. In addition, Daroory may be obliged to retain personal data for a longer period provided that this is required for compliance with a legal obligation or by order of an authority. Once the retention period has expired, the personal data will be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right of deletion, the right of rectification and the right to data portability cannot be asserted after the retention period has expired.

5. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION (LEGITIMATE PURPOSES)

In general, we use the data we collect primarily to provide, maintain, protect and improve our platform and to properly deliver the functionalities available on the platform. We use the data collected through our platform as described below:

6. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only as described below.

Third-Party Service Providers. We use third party services to perform certain functions on our platform. Some of these functions and services include: hosting the application in the app shops (App Store and Google Play), payment processing, authentication and data management services (Google Firebase), sending emails and SMS messages, sending push notifications and performing tracking and analytics functions on the platform.

These third-party services and tools may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use that information for other purposes. Information shared with these third-party services will be treated and stored in accordance with their respective privacy policies and our privacy policy.

Authentication and data management: Daroory uses Firebase services for user authentication and secure data management. Firebase, a solution developed by Google, provides advanced tools that enable the protection of users' personal information, including encryption of credentials and secure management of login data. When registering and using the platform, authentication-related information such as email addresses, encrypted passwords, phone numbers and any additional data provided by third-party login methods (such as Google, Apple or Facebook) is processed and stored through Firebase. This infrastructure ensures that data is protected against unauthorised access and guarantees compliance with applicable security and privacy standards, providing users with a secure environment to manage their accounts and use the functionalities of the Daroory platform. The information stored is used solely for the purpose of facilitating access to the platform and is not shared with third parties without the express consent of the user, except where necessary to comply with legal obligations.

Push Notifications: Daroory uses push notifications to keep users informed in a timely manner about new messages, ad status updates and other relevant activities within the platform. These notifications are sent directly to users' devices, enabling fast and efficient communication regarding interactions and events occurring in the application. By activating push notifications, users consent to receive these alerts, which are designed to enhance the user experience by providing real-time information. Users have the option to manage their notification preferences through their device settings or in the account options within the platform. Push notifications are implemented in a way that ensures the privacy and security of user data, and no personal information is shared with third parties without the user's express consent.

Emails and SMS messages: By providing their email and phone number when registering on the Daroory platform, users expressly authorise the platform to send them relevant communications and notifications related to their activity on the platform, including, but not limited to, updates on published ads, new messages, as well as marketing communications, such as offers and promotions linked to the ads published on Daroory. In order to facilitate the sending of these communications, Daroory may share your email and phone number with third party providers specialised in sending emails and SMS messages, always ensuring that such providers comply with applicable data protection regulations. Users have control over their subscription to these communications and can opt out of receiving them at any time, either through the 'unsubscribe' option included in emails, by replying with 'STOP' to SMS messages, or by managing their notification and communication preferences directly from their account settings on the platform. This functionality is designed to offer a personalised and relevant experience, while respecting the user's privacy and preferences at all times.

Business Transfers. In the event Daroory creates, merges with, or is acquired by another entity, your information will likely be transferred. Daroory will send you an email or post a prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to another privacy policy.

Protection of Daroory and Others. We release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce or apply our terms and conditions and other agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Daroory, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Anonymous Information. Daroory uses anonymous browsing information collected automatically by our servers primarily to help us administer and improve the platform. We may also use aggregated anonymous information to provide information about the platform to potential business partners and other unaffiliated entities. This information is not personally identifiable.

7. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATIONS

In the event of a security breach that compromises the confidentiality of the personal data of our users, Daroory undertakes to notify those affected in a timely manner. This notification will be made through the means of contact that have been provided by the user on our platform. We will take all reasonable measures to protect the information and remedy any situation that compromises the security of your data.

8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER

By using our platform, you agree that your personal data may be transferred to and processed outside the UK or Egypt, where data protection laws may differ from those in your home country. This is because data may be stored on servers located outside your country. Daroory is committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure that your data is treated in accordance with applicable privacy protection rules and is adequately protected during any international transfer.

9. PROTECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We collect, process and store your personal data in strict compliance with UK and Egyptian data protection regulations. We are committed to ensuring the security and confidentiality of the information you provide to us, as well as ensuring the full exercise of your rights as a data subject. 10. RIGHTS

Users who provide information through our platform, as data subjects, have the right to access, rectify, download or delete their information, as well as to restrict and oppose certain processing of their information. While some of these rights apply generally, others only apply in certain limited circumstances. These rights are described below:

  • Access and portability: to access and know what information is stored on our servers, you can send us your request through our contact information.
  • Rectification, restriction, limitation and deletion: You may also rectify, restrict, limit or delete much of your information.

12. PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY

14. OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

In the event that this document is translated into other languages, it is hereby clarified that the English version shall be the official version and shall prevail over any other version in case of discrepancies, inconsistencies or differences of interpretation. Any conflict or ambiguity arising between the English version and a translated version shall be resolved in accordance with the content set forth in the original English text. This is because the English version accurately reflects the intent and agreements between the parties, and is considered the definitive reference in any matter relating to the interpretation of this document.
